Age discrimination in Silicon Valley, not just illegal

A lot of parents are amazed at the technical knowledge that their kids possess. In many households it is a grade school child that is the one teaching their mom and dad about their computer, smartphone, tablet or other electronic device. While the child acts as a teacher, one would never say that they don’t need their parents anymore. Why then is this the way those with experience are often treated in the workplace?
In places like Silicon Valley, older workers are often discriminated against, criticized for being someone who isn’t as familiar with emergency technology and practices but still pulls in a big paycheck. Young entrepreneurs are sought after, but a lot of business analysts say that this prejudicial viewpoint isn’t just discriminatory but also a big business mistake.
